Our Story
Our story began in Madrid at an AGBU event, where what started as a case of mistaken identity—because apparently, we’re both masters of awkward introductions—somehow turned into hours of conversation while strolling around the city. We connected over our mutual love for travel, adventure, family, and our shared talent for turning life’s chaos into a running joke! By the end of the night, it was clear that we had stumbled onto something special.
Of course, life immediately decided to complicate things by turning this into a long-distance relationship. Sevag, who had never been to London before, crossed the Atlantic for our first official date. We played mini-golf, where Sevag valiantly lost by one stroke—a wound he continues to nurse, because apparently, no one told him that mini-golf is Elizabeth’s unofficial Olympic sport. That weekend, we took Elizabeth’s dog, Mini, for a walk—who, by the way, gave Sevag her very important bark of approval—ate at every cozy pub we could find, and discovered that, despite living 3,000 miles apart, we both felt like we had known each other for years.
When Elizabeth visited Boston, she got the full experience: fried clams, crazy Celtics fans dressed in Dunkin' Donuts gear, and Sevag’s overconfidence navigating Boston traffic. Somehow, she still fell in love—with the city and with Sevag. By this point, it was clear that no amount of distance, jet lag, or mediocre airline food was going to get in the way of our relationship.
Fast forward to Armenia, where Sevag decided to propose at the Cascade in Yerevan. Romantic, yes, but also strategically chosen for the sheer number of stairs he could dramatically climb if Elizabeth said no. Spoiler alert: she said yes. Between bites of laghmajun and mante, we raised our glasses to a new beginning together—a moment that just felt right.
And now, here we are, starting a new chapter and making it official. We’re thrilled you’re here to celebrate with us, and we promise there will be fewer stairs, more drinks, and plenty of moments that remind us how lucky we are to have found each other. Cheers to that!
